Myrtle Audean (Dikes) Norman was born to Fred Ellis and Lona Olena (Thompson) Dikes on June 28, 1922 in Lawton, OK and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX on September 25, 2018 at the age of 96 years, 2 months and 28 days.
Audean grew up at Hastings where she graduated from high school in 1939. She married William Glen Norman at FBC, Temple, OK on December 6, 1941 and to the union 2 children, Glenna and Jerry, were born. The family made their home north of Temple where they were engaged in farming for many years. The couple eventually retired and moved to the southside of town in 1981.
Audean was a member of Hastings Baptist Church growing up and later joined First Baptist Church at Temple in 1944, serving as a Sunday School teacher and funeral dinner cook. She and Glen loved to travel with family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking desserts and canning. She especially loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. The couple made their home in Wichita Falls for the past few years at Arbor House.
Glen preceded her in death on May 12 of this year; she was also preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers, Clifford and Orville Dikes.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Glenna and Mike Noret of San Angelo, TX; her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Chanda Norman of Wichita Falls; 3 grandchildren, Kevin Trahan, Melissa Wolfe and her husband Chris, and Ryan Trahan and his wife Holly; 7 great grandchildren, Christina Wolfe, Grayson Wolfe, Katlin Wolfe, Kylee Jo Trahan, Kaci Trahan, Jorden Trahan and Logan Richards; a great-great granddaughter, Winter Wolfe; her sister, Clytee Burton of Temple, OK; her sister-in-law, Nadine Booher of Lawton, OK; other relatives and many special friends.
