Greg was a welder by trade and worked in the refining industry for nearly 40 years. Greg got the nickname "Bull" because he was so bullheaded. He took a stance and stood his ground and when his mind was made up, no one could tell him otherwise. He was a leader in his field with a reputation for running a tight ship where he expected the best from his colleagues with whom he worked side by side. Bull was a master of his trade and taught many men the skills required to provide for their families and he loved to teach those who desired to learn. Greg was the ultimate competitor and nobody was ever going to show Bull up or produce more than he did. In his welding days he was arguably one of the best in the world and when Greg entered supervision his reputation preceded him. Many men whose skill level or work ethic wasn't up to par went looking for new jobs at the hands of Bull.

Greg spent the majority of his days chasing jobs, working hard and playing hard and most of his friends would agree that Greg's ornery side was as intense as his work ethic. Whatever Greg did, he did it big. Greg had a good family, a tight knit group of men, who traveled the world together, they sweat and bled together, they respected, loved and looked out for one another. Bull loved his family.

Greg was an avid fisherman. There may not have been any place he enjoyed more than at the end of a rod and reel trying to catch a new personal best. He loved staying on Lake Fork in East Texas to try his luck for a big one and spend time with kin. Greg passed away with a rod and reel in his hand on the banks of Waurika Lake, doing what he loved. Greg will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jolene McKown Dudley and brother-in-law Kevin Weddle. Survivors include sons, Josh McKown and wife Cindy of Mustang, OK; Michael Zweiacker and wife Kara of Temple, OK; daughter Feryn Crawford of Cleburne TX; brother, Mike McKown and wife Jackie of Medicine Park, OK; sister, Pattie Weddle of Denton, TX, grandkids, nieces and nephews and many special friends.
