Ruby Pauline (Zachary) Robertson was born to Joe Dallas and Beulah Alice (Neely) Zachary on February 7, 1924 at Cookietown, OK and departed this life at her home northeast of Walters, OK on August 9, 2018 at the age of 94 years, 6 months and 2 days.
Ruby grew up attending Union Valley School through the 10th grade. The family then moved to Temple, OK upon the purchase of a quarter section of land on the south side of Temple Lake. She finished her junior and senior years at THS, graduating in 1941. Ruby married Clois Edward Robertson on April 9, 1942 at Walters and to the union 2 daughters were born. The couple lived their entire marriage at the current home on their farm northeast of Walters.
Ruby was a seamstress at Haggar’s in Temple for 29 years along with being a homemaker. She enjoyed woodcarving, painting, flower gardening, sewing, crocheting, and loved keeping chickens and peacocks. Her family, however, was closest to her heart. Ruby was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clois, in 2005; 6 brothers, Allen, Fred, Lewis, Leslie, Howard and Homer; 3 sisters, Roxie, Thelma and Gladys; her son-in-law, Bill Wiley; and her great granddaughter, Paige Jenean Bivans.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Sharon Wiley of Walters, Carol Graham and husband Larry of Cache, OK; a brother, Harold Junior Zachary of Temple; 4 grandchildren, Cheryl Donzell of Mesquite, TX, Gary Graham and wife Kim of Duncan, Sherry Jordan and husband Brad of Edmond, Michelle Bivans and husband Mark of Cache; 6 great grandchildren, Scot Bivans, Andra Donzell, Keenan Graham, Kris Graham, Taylor Jordan and Bailey Jordan; and 4 great-great grandchildren, Kinsler & Emmerson Graham, and Riley & Sage Bivans.
