William Glen Norman was born to James Perry “J.P." and Verna Lea (Magness) Norman on August 28, 1918 at Temple, OK and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX on May 12, 2018 at the age of 99 years, 8 months and 15 days.
Glen was raised and attended school in the Gregg community northeast of Temple, OK, graduating from Temple High School in 1937. He married Myrtle Audean Dikes on December 6, 1941 and to the union 2 children, Glenna and Jerry, were born. They were married 76 years. The family made their home north of Temple where they were engaged in farming for many years. They eventually retired and moved to the southside of town in 1981.
Glen was an active member of First Baptist Church for more than 60 years, serving as a deacon since his ordination in 1965 and taught the men’s Sunday School class for 10 years. He also held the position of Sunday School Superintendent several times. Glen and his wife loved to travel with family and friends, but more than traveling, he loved the friendships and stories shared with friends. He loved farming and was a walking history book of the Temple, OK area. The couple has made their home in Wichita Falls for the past couple of years to be near their son.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Leroy, Marvin and Floyd Norman.
Survivors include his wife Audean of Wichita Falls; his daughter and son-in-law, Glenna and Mike Noret of San Angelo, TX; his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Chanda Norman of Wichita Falls; 3 grandchildren, Kevin Trahan, Melissa Wolfe and her husband Chris, and Ryan Trahan and his wife Holly; 7 great grandchildren, Christina Wolfe, Grayson Wolfe, Katlin Wolfe, Kylee Jo Trahan, Kaci Trahan, Jorden Trahan and Logan Richards; a great-great granddaughter, Winter Wolfe, on the way; 2 sisters-in-law, Nadine Booher and Clytee Burton; other relatives and many special friends.
