Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Walters, Friday, April 20, 2018 at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Jay Driskill and Rev. Jack Jacob officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters with burial in the Walters Cemetery.
Frances F. (Dobbs) Reece was born to Wayne Leonard and Voyse Mae (Hale) Dobbs on October 2, 1938 south of Temple, OK and departed this life in Walters, OK on April 17, 2018 at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 15 days.
Frances grew up south of Temple until age 12 when the family moved to town, and she graduated from Temple High School in 1957. She married Russell Dean Reece on April 12, 1959 at Grandfield, OK and made their home in Wichita Falls for a time before settling in Walters in January of 1960. Frances worked in various grocery stores as produce manager, but eventually returned to homemaking with the kids and helped raise the grandkids on the tractor.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Walters and several years back was very active with the Jaycees. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and enjoyed helping others. She was faithful to make all the school activities of her kids and grandkids, and she made lots of cookies for those activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Voyse Dobbs.
Survivors include her husband, Dean, of the home; 3 children and spouses, Paul Reece and Pam of Walters, Diana Schlough and Jim of Joshua, TX, Melinda Sturgess-Streich and John of Newcastle, OK; her brother Jerry Dobbs and wife Donna of Devol, OK; her sister Cheryl Brandstetter and husband Steve of Randlett, OK; 7 grandchildren and spouses, Brent and Viki Reece, Brandon and Ashley Reece all of Walters, Tiffany and Mark Dorsett of Granbury, TX, Cody and Chris Ann Perryman of Alvarado, TX, Megan and Jeff Day of Tuttle, OK, Meredith and Kody Franklin, Garrett and Jillian Sturgess all of Blanchard, OK; 15 great grandkids, Colten Reece of the home, Kiley, Parker and Wesley Reece of Walters, Sykora Hatten, Payton and Shane Dorsett all of Granbury, TX, Payton and Hailey Day of Tuttle, Sadie, Kambrie and Kody Franklin, Milly, Witly and Oakly Sturgess all of Blanchard; other relatives and friends.
