Funeral Services at First United Methodist Church, Temple, Monday, February 12 at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Christy Clark officiating with burial in the Temple Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 622, Temple, OK 73568.

  




Nancy Rosalyn Brockert was born to Claude Elbert and Nancy Verdie (Richey) Wright on May 8, 1924, at Memphis, TN and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on February 8, 2018 at the age of 93 years and 9 months.

 

Rosalyn grew up in Memphis, TN, graduating from high school in 1942. She met Edward Brockert of Oklahoma as he visited family in Memphis and they married on December 24, 1942 at Sterling, OK. She moved back to Memphis while he served during WWII and then they made their home at Elgin, OK. To the union 6 children were born. The family lived at Elgin, Chickasha and Gould, OK as Ed worked his way up in banking and they finally settled at Temple, OK in 1955.

 

Rosalyn was an active member of the Methodist Church, Eastern Star and the Lions Club for many years. She was a loving and caring mother who created an environment of warmth and love where she not only raised her family but also, one that was open to friends and neighbors alike. She and Ed enjoyed vacations to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon while the kids were growing up as well as trips back to Memphis to visit family.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, in 1985; a son, Robert, in 2002; and a stillborn baby boy. She was also preceded by her parents, Claude and Nancy Wright; 3 brothers, Hollis, Claude and Ed; and 6 sisters, Floy, Elsie, Ibby, Billie, Joanne and an infant sister.

 

Survivors include 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy Brockert and Lloyd Warren of Atlanta, GA, and Eddine Brockert of Oklahoma City; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, John Brockert of Temple, Tommy and Tammie Brockert of Edmond, OK; 3 grandchildren, Cherise Crittenden of Edmond, Landon Brockert of Oklahoma City, Kelsey Osten and husband Zach of Edmond; 3 great grandchildren, Chaya Crittenden, Taya Crittenden and Lucas Osten; many other relatives and friends.
