LaCharles "LC" Stewart

LaCharles "LC" Stewart was born to RC and Sammie Mae (Miles) Stewart on May 30, 1952 at Bullard, TX and departed this life in Lawton, OK on January 20, 2018 at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 21 days.

LC grew up at Altus, graduating from AHS in 1970. He then attended Cameron University, graduating with a degree in Physical Education in 1974. While attending Cameron University he met Bertha “Peaches” Johnson and they became very good friends. Later, on August 25, 1977 at Wichita Falls, TX, they were united in holy matrimony, as they would both echo, “I married my ‘best friend’”. They spent 42 years building a life and a future together.

In 1976 Stew went to work for Farm Fresh Dairy which later became Rosemont. Just about the time the dairy was relocating, Goodyear had started a plant in Lawton. In June of 1979 Stew started working for Goodyear as an SPC trucker. In 1981 he was awarded a job as a tire builder. After 19 years with the company he started having health problems and decided it was time to come home and take care of his grandson.

He was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing sports in high school and football at Cameron University. He continued being an avid football fan and also enjoyed cars, watching car auctions on TV, playing dominos, food and family, especially spending time with the grandkids.

He was preceded by his parents, RC and Sammie Stewart; his sister, Viola Jones; and a special aunt, Cleotha Webb.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha “Peaches” Stewart, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, LaChristi Dawn Stewart Hagel and Chris of Lawton; 3 sons, LC Stewart Jr., Damien Lonewolf Stewart and William Lonewolf Stewart all of Lawton; 6 granchildren, Christon Hagel, Chrisseana Hagel, Kyla Stewart, Layla Stewart, LaCharles Stewart, III and Promise Stewart; other relatives and many friends.
