Funeral Services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, Wednesday, January 24, at 1:30 p.m., Faron Griffin officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery. Come and go viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 22.
Klaus Dieter Sehrt was born to Hans and Margarete Noha Sehrt on January 3, 1966 in Homberg Germany and departed this life in Walters, OK on January 19, 2018 at the age of 52 years and 16 days.
Dieter grew up on a farm until the family moved into GieBen where he attended school. He then served in the military before attending college and then going to work for Canon. He eventually moved to the United States living at Lawton, OK where he worked for a crop duster. He soon sought citizenship which he received around 1993. He went to work for Coca-Cola as a truckdriver and moved to Walters where he met Shelly Jo Linderkamp. They married on October 9, 1994, to the union a son, Hans Bouchee Sehrt, was born.
Dieter went on to work as a manager for Budweiser and has since been working as Senior Manager of Miller Beer in Lawton. He served 10 years as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Walters. He enjoyed working, taking photos of eagles, fishing, spending time with his son and friends riding 4-wheelers, and enjoyed music, especially Elvis and Emmylou Harris.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Gerhard and Jens Sehrt.
Dieter is survived by his son, Hans Bouchee Sehrt of Walters; his parents, Hans and Margarete Sehrt of Buseck Germany; 2 brothers, Berthold Sehrt and Thomas Sehrt of Buseck; one like a son, Konner Hale of Temple, OK; his best friend, Simon Smith of Pensacola, FL; a niece and several nephews of Germany; other relatives and many friends.
