Funeral Services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Videll Yackeschi and Deacon David Johnson officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Army and the CIVA. A Prayer Service will be held at Hart-Wyatt Chapel on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. Viewing on Monday from 2-4 pm, Tuesday 9-8 pm and Wednesday from 9-1 pm
Hector Yackeschi was born to Winfred "Bud" and Virgie Lee (Mason) Yackeschi on July 17, 1948 in Colorado Springs, CO and departed this life in Lawton, OK on December 29, 2017 at the age of 69 years.
As a child Hector lived in Colorado, California and Saginaw, TX until his family settle back in Walters. He graduated from WHS in 1967 and then attended some college at Cameron. He entered the United States Army, serving his country honorably in Vietnam and was discharged as Corporal. Following his military service, he attended welding school and welded for a company in the Irving, TX area for 15 years.
He has called Walters home for many years where he has enjoyed truck rides with his dad, riding his bike, building, fixing and tinkering. He was a good athlete in high school, and held the mile and 2 mile run records at WHS for many years. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved spending time with his kids. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
Hector was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Gayle Beartrack Yackeschi; his mother, Virgie Lee Chemah; his father and stepmother, Buddy and Barbara Yackeschi; a son Matthew Joshua of Dallas; his brother, Zooner Chemah; and his stepsisters, Carol Ann Grant, Gina Martinez and Pamela Vargas.
Survivors include 5 children, Lamont Yackeschi of Paris, TX, Casey Yackeschi of Walters, Herschel Duane Yackeschi of Dallas, Penny Salinas of Lawton and his stepdaughter, Carrie Miller of Walters; his grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Cassandra, Corina, Jaydalin, Nellie, Eli, Adam, Michael and Ricky; his aunts and uncles, June Tahpay of Walters, Tincy Wooth of Elgin, Videll and Isabelle, Yackeschi of Comanche; his brothers and sisters, Duane Yackeschi and Herschel Yackeschi both of Walters, Ina Yackeschi of Lawton, and his half-sister Cheryl Chemah of Walters; Barbara’s kids and their families Donna Ahdosy, Leanna Martinez, Brenda Martinez and Harold Dean Martinez all of Walters, and George Martinez of Temple; many other relatives and friends.
