Oleta Paulette Wooten

Funeral Services at the Walters Comanche Nation Community Center, Monday, December 18 at 2:30 p.m., Chaplain John Carlisle officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home with burial in the Walters Cemetery. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the community center.

Oleta Paulette (Heddlesten) Wooten was born to Orvil Paul and Margie Bell (Etter) Heddlesten on February 4, 1960 at Cyril, OK and departed this life in Oklahoma City on December 13, 2017 at the age of 57 years, 9 months and 9 days.

Paulette grew up at Walters. She married Donald Ray “Donnie” Wooten on March 9, 1987 at Wichita Falls, TX. They made their home at Walters until moving to Geronimo in 2006. Through the years she worked at Haggars in Temple, did tax preparing for many years, went to work at Dollar General and then back to preparing taxes before being employed at the Lawton Correctional Facility for the past 14 months.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and visiting her brothers. She enjoyed giving people a hard time, playing games on her phone and watching Hallmark channel movies. She loved her dogs, Petey and GiGi.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Heddlesten; an infant brother, Jimmy Heddlesten; her father-in-law, Kermit Wooten; and her mother-in-law, Mona Codynah.

Survivors include her husband, Donnie Wooten, of the home; 4 daughters and spouses, Stephanie Lawrence and Shane of Walters, Alvina Mountain of Lawton, Mary Tosee and William of Walters, and Donna Johnson of Lawton; her mother, Margie Heddlesten of Walters; 5 brothers and spouses, Gary Heddlesten and Sandi of Ft. Cobb, OK, Bobby Heddlesten and Linda of Stecker, OK, Jessie Heddlesten of Walters, Charlie Heddlesten of Lawton and Lance Heddlesten and Ashley of Walters; 3 sisters and spouses, Paula Carroll and Everett of Kingfisher, OK, Midge Parker of Walters and Staci Heddlesten of Lawton; her father-in-law, Fred Codynah of Walters; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Farias of Walters; 19 grandchildren, Alex, Skylar, Shaylee, Shane, Christopher, Abby, Rory, Larkyn, Carter, Kayson, Shonnda, Allyse, Jay, Denise, Avery, Oakley, Hunter, Geibriel, and Briley; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
