Funeral Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., with burial in the Walters Cemetery with military honors.
Jimmy E. Swindle was born to Otto Clay and Murl Cathryn (Harris) Swindle on December 15, 1954 in England, AR and departed this life in Watkins, CO on December 4, 2017 at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 19 days.
Jim grew up at Carlisle, AR. He entered the United States Army at the age of 17 and served honorably for 21 plus years. His service also included tours in Vietnam and Desert Storm, retiring on March 1, 1993. He had married Audie R. “Beckie” Lucas on August 9, 1982 at Lawton, OK and they had eventually made their way to New Llano, LA. Upon his retirement from the Army Jim soon began a career in trucking to include 12 years with J.B. Hunt, 5 years with USA and was currently in his 6th year with Crete.
Through the years they also made their home at Cabot, AR, Cave City, AR, Walters, OK, Elyria, OH and back to Walters on August 4, 2014. Jim enjoyed his days of rodeoing, fishing and cross-country trucking. He was passionate about the U.S. Army and deeply enjoyed serving his county.
He was preceded by his mother, Cathryn, and a brother, James Ray Swindle.
Survivors include his wife, Beckie Swindle, of the home; his father, Otto Swindle of Carlisle, AR; 3 sons, Robert Northup of DeRidder, LA, Curtis Stone of Elyria, OH and Joseph Swindle of Houston, TX; a sister, Linda Kay Moore of Little Rock, AR; 2 brothers, David Otto Swindle of Fort Smith, AR and John Swindle of Lonoke, AR; 12 grandchildren, Kenneth, Jordan, Lakin, Sadie, Dawson, Kyle, Keith, Debbie, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Kimora and Joseph; 3 great grandchildren, Alana, Benjamin and Kayden; many other relatives and a host of friends.
