Marshall Leon “Mark” Sevier was born to Leon Irving Jr. and Gwenda Jean (DeMasters) Sevier on December 20, 1972 at Okmulgee, OK and departed this life in Duncan, OK on November 23, 2017 at the age of 44 years, 11 months and 3 days.
Mark grew up at Duncan attending Erving Elementary and Central before moving to Oroville, CA where he attended Oroville High School but soon returned to Duncan. He married Kelly Marie Maness and they had Joshua Leon. Mark later married April Ann Davie and they had Jasmine Marie, April Jean and Marshall Leon.
Mark attended police academy in Oklahoma City. He worked as a correction officer and sharp shooter at the Joseph Harp Correction Center at Lexington, OK from 1995-1998. He then worked as a police officer for the Comanche Tribe from 2001-2004 and later as a security guard for Battison Auto Center.
He loved to play music which he learned from his father and grandfather as he was growing up. He also enjoyed working on computers and electronics in general.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great grandparents, Lee and Alice Lorean Chockpoyah, and Ed and Bertha Sevier; his maternal great grandparents, Clarence and Christine Welch, and Marshal Newton Thomas and Edith Fern DeMasters; his paternal grandfather, Leon Irving Sevier Sr.; his maternal grandmother, Wanda Jean DeMasters Alger; and his uncle Kenneth Ray Sevier.
Survivors include his wife, April, of the home; his son, Joshua Leon Maness of Oklahoma City; his 3 children of the home, Jasmine Marie Sevier, April Jean Sevier and Marshall Leon Sevier, Jr.; his parents, Leon and Gwenda Sevier of Norman; his grandmother, Marie Sevier of Duncan; his grandfather, Marshall Gwain DeMasters and wife Anna of Cedar Hill, UT; his brother, Christopher Sevier and wife Sandra Kim of Noble, OK; sister, ChyLee Sevier of Norman; a niece, Presley Sevier of Norman; 2 nephews, Brayden and Collin Sevier of Noble; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
