Fred C. Howell, Jr. age 87 of Dallas, Texas passed from this life on November 3, 2017 in Dallas, Texas from a short illness. He will always be remembered as a special person to all that knew and loved him. He was born on November 10, 1929 in Temple, Oklahoma to Fred C. Howell, Sr. and Ethel Elizabeth Howell. He graduated from Temple High School and completed an accounting degree from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas and gained his Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification at a later date.
He was an avid runner and ran over 19,000 miles in his lifetime and was a donor to the Baylor Health Care System Foundation and also was an active Member of Mensa International (the largest and oldest high IQ society). In addition, in his younger days he was a volunteer firefighter in Rosebud, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ethel and Fred C. Howell, Sr., sister Janie Dollar and brother-in-law Ira Dollar and great nephews Robert Dollar and Matthew Dollar.
Survivors include Jeanne Darnell and her children Nicky Darnell and his wife Barbara Darnell of Boynton Beach, Florida and Sherri Darnell of Mangum, Oklahoma, Michael Howell Dollar, Nephew of Madill, Ok, Nancy Jane Dollar Hadlock, Niece of Mustang, Oklahoma; great nieces, Tammy Garvin and Marsha Lovelace of Mustang, Kristen Dollar Tilly of Edmond, Oklahoma and Sylvir Dollar of Henderson, North Carolina; and Jeffrey Todd Dollar, great nephew of Edmond, Oklahoma; great-great nieces, Paige Garvin of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kyla Lovelace of Mustang, Oklahoma, Lauren Tilly of Edmond, Oklahoma and Haley Dollar of Pauline, S. Carolina; and great-great nephews, Derek Garvin and Brayden Lovelace of Mustang, Oklahoma and Grant Tilly of Edmond, Oklahoma.
Family and friends may gather for a visitation on November 8, 2017 at Temple United Methodist Church, 401 W. Oregon Street, Temple, Oklahoma from 10:30 am until 12:00 noon. Funeral service will be held at the same location at 1:00 pm November 8, 2017 with burial to follow in Temple Cemetery in Temple, OK.
In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the Dallas Society for Prevention of Cruelty of Animals.
