David Ivester

A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, Temple, OK on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home.

 

 

 

 

David Paul Ivester or “DI” was born to Bobby Gene and Dena Faye (Brandon) Ivester on August 23, 1951 at Temple, OK and departed this life on July 14, 2017 at his home in Temple at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 21 days.

 

DI grew up and attended Temple Public Schools. At the young age of 14 he began his work career in custom harvesting with AV Vardell and continued this line of work with his brothers for several years. He had many professions to include heavy equipment operator, cross country truck driver, and he finally settled back in Temple spending his last years working for Cotton County District #2.

 

DI loved square dancing and belonged to several square-dancing clubs. He also loved to read, go out to eat and go shopping.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Butch Ivester; and a niece, Kathy Ivester.

 

He is survived by a sister, Sharon Bridgers and husband Paul of Walters; a brother, Skin Collins and wife Betty Jane of Broadus, MT; a sister-in-law, Gail Ivester of Ashland, MT; 3 nieces, Jenny Miller and husband Randy of Gillette, WY, Paula Lokey and husband Brian of Comanche, OK, and Lisa Pendley of Cyril, OK; 2 nephews, Donnie Collins of Washington State, Bobby Ivester and wife Nicky of Gillette, WY; many great nieces and nephews; 1 great great nephew; 1 great great niece; a special cousin and care giver, Ruby Hendrix; many other relatives and lots of friends, including longtime friend Joe Cummings of Porter, TX.
