Funeral Services will be at the Church of The Nazarene, Walters, Wednesday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Paul Metcalfe officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.
Joseph Aaron Rash was born to Joseph Edward and Elfie Pearl (Hoodenpyle) Rash on December 3, 1923 at Lawton, OK and departed this life in Lawton on June 10, 2017 at the age of 93 years, 6 months and 7 days.
Aaron grew up in the Lawton area as well as the Emerson Community west of Walters. He then served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII. Upon his return home from the service he married Lawannah Arrington on March 1, 1946. They had agreed to marry prior to his war service but decided to wait until his return home. Aaron worked various jobs and they had eventually made their home on a farm north of Walters. In 1957 he hired on with Cotton Electric and eventually moved into Walters in 1963. He retired after 28 years with the company.
Lawannah preceded him in death on July 25, 1995. He later married Leona McComber in 1999 and they cherished several years together, and enjoyed playing dominos and watching TV. He was a member of the Walters Church of the Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lawannah; a daughter, Joette Moore; 3 brothers, Paul, Everette and Earl Rash; and a sister, Edna Kitchens.
He is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey and Terry Rash of Lawton, Eddie and Diane of Walters; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Sid Siemens of Midwest City, OK; 9 grandchildren and spouses, Lynn and Mercedes Rash, Jody and Billie Rash, Rianna Brown, Tiffany and Clay Coast, Lori and Kris Raper, Michael Heinlein, Cynthia and James Lukehart, Shane and Sarah Moore, and Wendy Moore; 20 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
