Craig Orville Gower was born to Thad and Alsie Louise (Stephens) Gower on September 19, 1952 at Lawton, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on April 15, 2017 at the age of 64 years, 6 months and 27 days.
Craig grew up at Temple, graduating from THS in 1970. In the 70’s he went to work as a welder for Diamond S Trailers in Walters before going overseas to Iran where he worked on pipeline with Brown & Root. He returned home and worked for Shelby Trailers at Comanche and then Smith Welding at Waurika before helping build the Elliot Plant in Duncan. Making Temple his home, Craig has spent a lifetime working as a welder and farmer.
He was an outdoors guy and enjoyed fishing, going to the lake, racing and going to the casino. He loved spending time with his grandkids.
Craig was preceded in death by his father, Thad Gower; his brother, Clint “Hippie” Gower; and a grandson, Clinton Thad Gower.
Survivors include his mother, Louise Gower of Temple; 4 children, Chad Kelley of Dublin, TX, Stephanie Kelley of Dallas, TX, Josh Gower and wife Shelbie of Temple, Patrick Burrow and wife Stephanie of Mustang, OK; a sister Renee Gower of Dallas; a brother, Cletus Gower and wife Jeanne of Temple; 6 grandchildren, Jacilyn and Allison Kelley, Bradean and Addisyn Gower, Landon and Austin Burrow; a great-granddaughter, Alaina Kelley; other relatives and many friends.
