Justin Brett Scott was born on June 21, 1974 to Phillip R. and Patricia Bradley Scott. Justin passed away on March 2, 2017, in Wichita Falls, TX at the age of 42 years, 8 months and 9 days.
Justin attended school at Waurika for 13 years and graduated in 1992. He attended college at the University of Arizona where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with minors in physics, chemistry and math. After graduating he went to New York where he worked on the New York Mercantile Exchange day trading. In 2011 he returned to Arizona and worked in mortgage lending for Gulfstream and CIT. He later returned to Waurika and worked on the family ranch and attended Midwestern State University and received a Masters in Business Administration. At the time of his death he was enrolled at the University of Oklahoma to obtain a Masters in Legal Studies with emphasis in oil and gas law.
Justin was a member of the First Christian Church of Waurika and a member of the Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity at the University of Arizona.
Justin is survived by his parents, sister Nicole Scott of Alexandria, VA, brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Elizabeth Scott of Waurika, nephews, Lodge and Houston, uncle Hank Bradley and his wife, Terry of Oklahoma City, aunt Carol Scott Smith of Noble, and special cousins, Josh, Andrea, Chad, Shari, Terecia, Gina, DaRenda and Eric, and numerous friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Kay and Marguerite Scott and W.D. “Bill” and Margaret Bradley, his uncle Jack K. Scott and his uncle and aunt, Gary K. and Ann Scott.
Justin enjoyed watching the Arizona Wildcats basketball team and enjoyed playing golf and tennis with his best friend, Steve Waid. He leaves us with so many wonderful memories. We cherish his many friends who were always a phone call away when needed.
Services for Justin will be Monday, March 6, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Curtis Plant officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters, OK.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Justin B. Scott Scholarship Fund, c/o First Farmers National Bank, P.O. Box 329, Waurika, OK 73573.
