Blanche Logan, 99, of Walters, OK

Funeral Services at Calvary Baptist Church, Walters, Tuesday, November 29 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Philip Beard and Rev. Carlton Campbell officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home.

Blanche J. (Wallace) Logan was born to James Lewis and Lucy Eugenia (Lowry) Wallace on November 29, 1916, west of Walters, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on November 25, 2016 at the age of 99 years, 11 months and 27 days.

Blanche was a lifelong resident of the Walters area. She married Floyd W. Logan on November 3, 1932 and to the union 3 children were born. The couple farmed for many years and raised Hereford cattle. She was a homemaker and known for being the Clean Queen. She also worked at the Walters School Lunchroom for 12 years. She enjoyed gardening, raising both flowers and vegetables. She was known for her delicious pies, cakes and hot rolls. She loved going to garage sales and was always fixing and restoring things. She also collected dolls and made doll clothes.

Throughout the years Blanche had been an active member of Emerson Baptist Church, First Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church. She loved her church and enjoyed working in the nursery for many years at Calvary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, on August 24, 1962 and her daughter, Carleen Herring, on February 25, 1992. Also preceding her were 3 sister, Jean Martin in 1988, Carrie Mae Martin in 1994 and Dixie Brooks in 2009.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Linda Logan of Canton, OK; a daughter and son-in-law, Geneva and Howard Hawkins of Walters; 6 grandchildren, Terry Herring, Wade Logan, Eric Logan, LeAnn Lewis, Shelly Penrod and Jaret Hawkins; 15 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
