Nellie June Foster

Funeral Services at the Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Friday, November 18 at 2:00 p.m., with burial in the Walters Cemetery.

 

Nellie June (Swinford) Foster was born to William J. and Holland J. (McArty) Swinford on June 19, 1925 at Walters, OK and departed this life at R.V.H.R. in Gainesville, TX on November 14, 2016 at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 26 days.

Nell grew up on a farm in the Walters, OK, area with her Swinford Family. She attended 8 years at Valley View School, Walters, OK.

Nell was married to Glen Ray Foster on October 04, 1948 at Henrietta, TX and to the union two children were born.

Nell lived in Pampa, TX, from 1962-2014 being a good wife, mother, grandma and homemaker. She LOVED her family. She loved cooking, trying out new recipes she collected. She was an avid seamstress. She quilted numerous handmade quilts for many family members and friends, and every stitch was sewn with love. She loved to write poems, especially for sibling’s birthdays. She worked in her yard, mowed, planted flowers, and a vegetable garden until health issues at 89.

She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church at Woodward, OK. She loved watching Dr. Charles Stanley on Sunday Services. She remembered Jesus name to the end.

Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; her parents, William and Holland Swinford; a son Larry Foster; a granddaughter, Chelsea D. Reiter; and many sisters and brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Marsha K. Reiter and husband, Eugene, of Valley View, TX; grandson, Larry M. Martinez and wife Carrie of Pampa, TX; grandson, Derrick M. Foster (missing); grandson, Chad E. Reiter and wife Bonnie of Corpus Christie, TX; grandson Carl E. Reiter of Chattanooga, TN; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Stubblefield of Pampa, TX, Jessie Jackson of Burkburnett, TX, Faye Baldas of Lawton, OK; many cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
