Marilyn Lucile McDonald was born August 28, 1936 in Gove County, KS and departed this life in Lawton, OK on October 19, 2016 at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 21 days.
Marilyn grew up in Alabama, Texas and California where she graduated from high school. She married Charles Lee McDonald on July 3, 1958 at Amarillo, TX where they made their home at until coming to Lawton, OK. Through the years she has worked for Lawton Parks and Recreation, Platt College and did side work as a seamstress for many years. They have made their home in Walters for the past 20 years.
She was a champion for children and girls sports in Lawton for many years during the 1970’s and 80’s. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed traveling, gardening and helping others. She was a sports lover and pet lover.
Survivors include her husband, Charles of the home; 2 sons, Tom McDonald and wife Belinda of Faxon, OK, and Danny McDonald of Chattanooga, OK; her daughter, Laina McDonald of Fort Worth, TX; 3 grandchildren, Kendra McDonald of Lawton, Shayne McDonald of Faxon, and Maddie McDonald of Chattanooga; a great grandson, Braedon McDonald of Lawton; a sister Elaine Thompson of Amarillo; a brother, Richard Smith of Sacramento, CA; other relatives and a host of friends.
