Ruth Jackson

Funeral Services at the Church of Christ, Walters, OK, Monday, August 8 at 10:00 a.m., Don Crow officiating with burial in the Temple Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple.

 

 

 

 

Ruth E. (Brashears) Jackson was born to Kelly Andrew and Mackie Lou (Edmondson) Brashears on November 18, 1931, east of Temple, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on August 4, 2016 at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 17 days.

 

Ruth grew up east of Temple attending Donley School until the family moved to the West Cache Creek area where she attended school at South Rose Valley. They eventually moved to Temple and Ruth graduated from THS in 1951. She married Vaugh L “Jack” Jackson on February 11, 1953 at her parent’s home in Temple. They lived at Wichita Falls for a year and then on to Peoria, IL for 5 years, then to Duncan for a year before settling in Temple where they raised 2 boys. Ruth was a homemaker and worked several years at Haggar’s.

 

She was an active member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed doing church work and helping with meals. She loved spending time with children and enjoyed shopping.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Doyle, Charlie and Don; and her sister, Jo Ann Hackney.

 

Survivors include her husband, Jack, of the home; 2 sons, Kelly Jackson of Comanche, OK and Trent Jackson and companion, Jeannie, of West Cache Creek, Cotton County, OK; her granddaughter, Taylor Jackson of Comanche, OK; a niece she helped raise, Lisa Jordan; several other special nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
