Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Walters, Friday, June 24 at 10:30 a.m., Pastor Gary Thurman officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home. Memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church or the Walters Cemetery Association.
Wynema Aleen (Martin) Marshall was born to Wesley and Lillie (Rea) Martin on June 12, 1934 west of Walters and departed this life in Duncan, OK, on June 20, 2016 at the age of 82 years and 8 days.
Wynema was born on West Cache Creek and grew up west of Walters. She graduated from Walters High School in the Class of 1950 and soon married Alvin Alton Marshall on January 22, 1951 at First Baptist Church. They raised 3 children in Walters where she was employed and retired from Cotton Electric. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, playing cards and dominos, especially pinochle, and she and Alvin loved to square dance. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin in 2006; and her sister, Marietta Dunbar.
Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Cylinda Marshall of Ft. Worth, TX, Doug and Vicky Marshall of Amarillo, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Mike Houston of Marlow, OK; a sister, Bonnie Davis and husband Jerry of Alba, TX; a brother, Chris Martin and wife Glenda of Comanche, OK; 5 grandchildren and spouses, Lance and Allie Marshall of Weatherford, TX, Suzanne and Brian Dodd of Duncan, OK, Lacey and Denver Hinson of Sunray, TX, Trent and Brittney Houston of Midland, TX, Ethan and Meagan Marshall of Ft. Worth; 11 great grandchildren, Blake, Brenton, Colt, Landen, Hayden, Demi, Hadliegh, Kade, Wyatt, Loukas and Nova; many other relatives and friends.
