Evelyn Anderson

Funeral Services at the Church of Christ, Walters, OK, Tuesday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m., with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Elgin, OK, under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.

Evelyn Claire (Sanders) Anderson was born to William Stevenson and Irene Claire (Cahill) Sanders on January 3, 1922 at Elgin, OK and departed this life in Marlow, OK on May 7, 2016 at the age of 94 years, 4 months and 4 days.

Evelyn grew up in the Elgin and Sterling, OK, area. She married Albert Beecher “A.B.” Anderson on July 16, 1938 at Lawton, OK. They eventually moved to Temple, OK in 1949 where they raised 4 children. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Temple. She enjoyed quilting, playing dominoes and cards, cooking and serving her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A.B. Anderson, on July 29, 2004; and 5 brothers and sisters, Vera “Dutch” Moses, Ruby Read, Gladys Flood, Alma Bridges and Dewey Sanders.

Survivors include 2 sons, Don Anderson of Elk City, OK, Albert “Chub” Anderson and wife Dixie of Marlow, OK; 2 daughters, Shirley Reece of Edmond, OK and Marlene Anderson of San Ramon, CA; a brother and 2 sisters, Earl “Son” Sanders of Sterling, Alice “Tince” Manning of Fletcher and Beulah Evans of Marlow; 10 grandchildren, Charles Anderson of Marlow, Craig Reece of Pawhuska, OK, Terry Billen of San Diego, CA, Candra Turpin of Sterling, Shane Anderson and Lane Anderson both of Marlow, Cheryl Reece of Edmond, OK, Jason Anderson of Cyril, Candace Roberts of Fort Collins, CO, and Mindy Billen of Pleasanton, CA; several great grand and great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
