Richard Baze

Funeral Service at the Church of Christ, Temple, OK at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, Ric Jerez officiating with burial in the Temple Cemetery. Viewing from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm on Wednesday and Thursday at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple.

Richard Anthony Baze was born to Truman Richard and Mary Louise (Keck) Baze on May 10, 1968 at Altus, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on April 22, 2016 at the age of 47 years, 11 months and 12 days.

Richard grew up at Altus and then Skiatook, OK, before coming to Walters around the age of 13. He then moved to Temple finishing his Junior and Senior years, graduating from THS in 1986. He married Danelle Louise “DeDe” Gower on March 25, 1989 at Temple. They made their home in Altus for a couple of years before moving to North Carolina with the Marine Corps. After 4 years of honorable service to his country, Richard moved the family back to Temple. He worked for Fleetwood Mobile Homes in Wichita Falls, TX and then as a police officer at Fort Sill for 4 years before moving the family to Arkansas where he was employed by AERT. They returned to Temple and he has worked with the cement crew as an SO1at Halliburton since May of 2007. Through the years he has enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and watching OU sports.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Survivors include his wife, DeDe, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Shelby and Brendon Turner of Temple, OK; a son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Audelia Baze of Temple; 2 grandchildren, Brylie Turner and Lucas Baze, as well as, twin girls on the way; his sister, Sherry Baze of Altus, OK; his aunt and uncle who helped raised him, Joy and Phil Anderson of Temple; his in-laws, Cletus and Jeanne Gower of Temple; his brother-in-law, Dustin Gower of Oklahoma City; many other relatives and friends.
