H. Harold Coffelt was born to Charles Alvin “Wendy” and Lois V. (Grubbs) Coffelt on June 8, 1939 at Snyder, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on March 4, 2016 at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 25 days.
Harold grew up on a farm southwest of Snyder and graduated from Snyder High School in 1958. He went on to attend barber college in Oklahoma City and then worked as a barber in Lawton for several years. He married Charlotte Ann Davis on December 29, 1963 at Lawton. In 1966 he moved the family to California where he became involved in auto sales. They returned to Lawton in 1971where he continued in the auto business as a salesman, owner and manager. For the past 10 years he has been employed at Billingsley Ford as Assistant Used Car Manager and CPO Manager. He was proud to have served as an OIADA Commissioner.
Harold was a member of Lawton First Assembly and during the last 2 years of his illness has enjoyed watching the Gateway Church with Pastor Robert Morris online. Early on he enjoyed boating, camping and fishing. He loved going to Branson, and spending time with his family eating out. For many years he has enjoyed meeting his buddies at Whataburger every morning for coffee.
He was preceded in death his parents, Wendy and Lois Coffelt; and his father-in-law, Rev. C.H. Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte, of the home; 4 children and their spouses, Kim and Bobby Thompson of Cache, OK, Melissa Whisenand of Macon, MO, Rick and Della Coffelt of Falcon, CO, Crystal and Mike Berthiaume of Lawton; a Brother, Darrell Coffelt and his wife, Joann of Snyder; his mother-in-law, Juanita Davis of Lawton; 12 grandchildren and spouses, Dr. Cris and Jennelle Thompson, Whitney and Johnny Jernigan, Shannon Owens, Amy and Benjamin Elliott, Brandon Levell, Sharra and Jarrett Miller, Ricky and Tasha Coffelt, Cory and Christina Coffelt, Kirstin Berthiaume, Michaela Dowen, Karlee Berthiaume and Brighton Dowen; and 20 great grandchildren.
