Cleo Ray, 71, Walters, OK
Funeral services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK on Tuesday, February 16 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Gary Thurman officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery.
Cleo Mac Ray was born to Andrew Sidney and Olive Priscilla (Reading) Ray on November 28, 1944 east of Walters, OK in the Beaver Creek bottom and departed this life Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Oklahoma City at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 13 days.
Cleo grew up on Beaver Creek and graduated from Walters High School in 1962. He married Dollie Jaqueline Hart on February 15, 1963 at Wichita Falls, TX and to the union 3 children were born. He was engaged in farming and worked at the elevator prior going to work for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority as a toll booth attendant. He retired in 1994 after 28 years of service.
Cleo was a member of the First Baptist Church in Walters and had been attending Beaver Creek Cowboy Church. He enjoyed messing with his animals and going to his grandkids sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Olive Ray; his son, Darrell Ray, on November 22, 1986; and his brother, Charles Ray.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Glen Woods of Walters; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Christy Ray of Walters; 5 grandchildren, Eric Woods and wife Ashley of Temple, OK, Haley Woods and Daniel of Walters, Kyle Ray, Calli Ray and Carter Ray of Walters; 2 great grandchildren, Ava Rae Woods and Axton Ramirez; other relatives and a host of friends.
