Lorene Lillie (Denham) Foster was born to Dennis R. and J. Gertrude (Schnaples) Denham in Leon, OK on February 3, 1923 and departed this life in Duncan, OK on December 28, 2015 at the age of 93 years, 10 months and 25 days.
She married Donald Jack Foster on December 7, 1940 and to the union 2 children were born. Lorene worked for Hagar Slacks Company for many years but her favorite job was as a security guard at the refinery in Meridian. After the death of her husband in 1981 a favorite pastime became visiting any area churches having a singing presentation. She would drive miles to hear good Christian music. She was a proud member of Patterson Avenue Baptist Church in Comanche and attended regularly until her health made it impossible to do so.
She leaves 2 children, Donna Kay Cumberledge of Duncan, and Larry Edward Foster and wife Jessie of Comanche; 6 grandchildren, 17, great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, 2 sisters, 1 brother, a niece and 2 great grandchildren.
The Honorary Pallbearers consist of her 6 grandchildren, Kenneth, Terry, David and Michael Cumberledge, Shannon Raye Foster and Larry Don Foster.
Lorene was often likened to Aunt Bea of the Andy Griffith Show. She was friendly with everyone, loved by many and will be deeply missed.
