Ruby Jewel (Baldwin) Turner Cox
was born to Luther and Maude (Fowler) Baldwin on March 1, 1933 east of Temple, OK and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on November 15, 2015 at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 14 days. Ruby grew up at Temple, OK. She married Birmond Turner and they made their home at Temple, Texas for several years. While there she worked as a cook and also an insurance agent. She eventually returned to Temple, OK where she worked at the Haggar’s factory. She also owned and operated Ruby’s Place café and cooked for the Temple Nutrition Center. She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, bingo and sewing. She was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Temple.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Jack and Albert Baldwin; her husband, Walter H. Cox; a son, Clarence Baldwin; and 2 grandchildren, Jeremiah James and Davion Turner
Survivors include 8 children and spouses, Leon Littles Sr. and Gailya of Dallas, Alvina Hill and special friend James Bennett of Arlington, TX, Duckquil Thornton and George of Georgia, Avalene James and Titus of Wichita, KS, Birmond Turner Jr. of Temple, OK, Judy Walker of Temple, TX, Brenda Clemons and Horace of Dallas, and Danny Turner of Dallas; 2 brothers Dennis Baldwin and wife Barbara of Duncan, OK and Ernest Baldwin of Dallas; 2 sisters Bertha Evans and Stella Jones both of Temple, OK; 22 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
