Gerald Thompson, 87, Walters, OK Graveside Service with Military Honors at the Walters Cemetery, Friday, October 2 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Ron Bartoli officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Gerald D. Thompson was born to William M. and Eurvela Marie (Kimbrel) Thompson on August 21, 1928 in the Essaquanahdale Community west of Temple, OK and departed this life at the VA Center in Lawton, OK on September 29, 2015 at the age of 87 years, 1 month and 8 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patsy Rogene Harrison, as well as, an infant sister; and a son, Leander Charles Thompson. Survivors include his wife LaVera Faye (Chockpoyah) Thompson of Walters; a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Douglass and Lynne Adene Thompson of Walters; a brother, Larry Walter Thompson of Teague, TX; 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
