Paul Ray Lucas, 62, Waverly, KS Memorial Service at the Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Paul Ray Lucas was 62 years old when he passed away on 8-18-2013 at his home in Waverly, Kansas. He was surrounded by his Family who loved him dearly. Ray is survived by his children and their families: Hollie Rae and Tom Prill; Robert Lucas; Jeffery Lucas; and Joshua Lucas; Grandchildren Travis, Alex, and Amanda Prill, and Jesse Crystal, and Michael Lucas; His Mother Geraldine Lucas; Siblings Larry and Teresa Lucas; Deborah and Bruce Ingle; and Sherry and Doug Gleason; Numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving extended family members. Ray was born in Roswell, New Mexico, spent his childhood in Southern California, and eventually settled in Waverly, Kansas. Ray graduated from Perris High School in 1969. He worked in construction for over forty years and was a journeyman carpenter. He loved his Lord and his Lord loved him. Ray had a great sense of humor and a kind, generous spirit. He enjoyed going on road trips, panning for gold, playing the guitar, a good game of chess, listening to old gospel songs, eating liver and onions, and drinking a cold glass of buttermilk. The joy of Ray's life was his children, grandchildren, and family and he loved spending time with them. Ray will be laid to rest in Walters, Oklahoma on 8-01-2015 where he will be surrounded by his family who has gone before him.
