Ruby L. Tate, 87, Walters, OK Funeral services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, Tuesday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Kent Simpson officiating with burial in the Chattanooga Cemetery. Ruby Lee (Foster) Tate was born to Melvin Lee and Dosha Loreena (Henderson) Foster on March 12, 1928 at Grandfield, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on May 2, 2015 at the age 87 years, 1 month and 20 days. Ruby grew up in the Ahpeatone Community west of Walters, graduating from Ahpeatone School. She has made her home in Walters most of her life where she raised her 4 boys. She worked several years for Haggar's as a button sewer and from 1982 to 1993 worked as a cook in the cafeteria for Walters Public Schools. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Walters. She enjoyed sewing, making artificial floral arrangements, moving her furniture around regularly, garage sales and playing dominoes. She loved her kids. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 young brothers; and 2 sons, Teddy and Ronnie Teakell. She is survived by 2 sons, Mike Teakell and wife Connie of Walters, Marty Tate and fiancé Jennifer of Chicago, IL; a daughter-in-law, Amy Teakell of Walters; a brother, Frank Foster and wife Barbara of Chattanooga, OK; 11 grandchildren, Shawna Cotton, Sharon Rodell, Jeanna Zangara, Penny Estes, Amanda Duke, Justin Teakell, Heath Teakell, Shawn Tate, Ashley Tate, Heather Vasil, and Marilyn Vasil; 13 great grandchildren and 1great-great grandchild; other relatives and friends.
