See online guestbook at www.hart-wyattfuneralhome.com Robert Henry "Bob" Whan was born to Winslow P. and Elaine W. (Kruse) Whan on November 30, 1942 at Peoria, IL and departed this life at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK on March 4, 2015 at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 4 days. Bob grew up at Peoria, IL, attending Catholic School and also Peoria Heights High School where he graduated. Bob entered the U.S. Army and soon married Sally Luverne O'Brien on May 23, 1964 at Peoria. As with many military families they moved around on several occasions, but have called Lawton/Ft. Sill home since 1972. A Veteran of Vietnam, he retired in 1985, serving his country honorably for 22 years. He then worked at Chiefs Auto Repair, Cameron University in maintenance for several years and on to Hodges Salvage. He has enjoyed playing golf through the years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sally Whan on April 5, 2013; and was preceded by a granddaughter, Dusti Glenn. Survivors include 4 children, Kim Glenn and husband Doug of Cache, OK, Bobby Whan and wife Kimm of Lawton, Billy Whan and Dana Millspaugh of Lawton, Bryan Whan and wife Jo of Marlow, OK; 10 grandchildren, Lindsey Crabtree and husband Cody of Cache, Cody Johnson of Elk City, OK, Stephanie Sullivan and husband Philip of Cache, Justin Stidham and wife Brigette of Cache, Megan Whan of Walters, Brennan Whan of Lawton, Sherydan Whan of Cache, Astre Whan of Marlow, Robert Whan and Caitlyn Whan both of Lawton; 4 great grandchildren, Roper, Teegan, Raycee and Haven; his in-laws, Barbara Benassi of Las Vegas, NV, Jay O'Brien of Canton, IL, Peggy Suebert, and Pat O'Brien both of East Peoria, IL; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
