George Lynn "Snooker" Moon was born to Clarence Albert and Essie Lee (Wilson) Moon on April 13, 1938 at Walters, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on January 24, 2015 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 11 days, ending his 50 year battle with Diabetes. George grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS in 1958. He married his high school sweetheart, Alta Janeice Cain, on May 23, 1959 at First Baptist Church in Walters and to the union 2 children were born. George worked as a lineman at Cotton Electric for 10 plus years and then served 4 terms as Cotton County Tax Assessor. George was a member of the Church of Christ in Walters where he had served as Deacon and had taught Sunday School. Growing up he enjoyed playing sports and spending time with his horse. In the 1970's he did some custom harvesting. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trap shooting. He coached little league football and softball, and assisted the 4-H and FFA kids at livestock shows. He would help anyone in need even when no one else would. George was a great "PaPa" who loved supporting and watching his grandkids in all that they did. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Albert Lee "Sonny" Moon; and an infant sister, Laquita June Moon. Survivors include his wife, Janeice, of the home; a son, Elby Lynn Moon, of Fletcher, OK; a daughter, Michelle Leann Goodeagle of Temple, OK; 2 brothers, L.D. Moon of Geronimo and Robert Moon and wife Suzanne of Dallas, TX; 3 sisters and their husbands, Betty and Glen Mallow of Walters, Wanda and Larry Johnson of Temple, Carol and Larry Thompson of Ft. Worth, TX; 3 grandchildren, Amber Nicole Miller of Temple, Chelsea Denise Goss and Lucas of Walters, Shelby Lynn Moon and Cassidy Taylor of Cache, OK; 5 great grandchildren, Alexxiss Boucher, Robby Joe Boucher, Zalachi Goss, Aayden Boucher and Brantley Taylor; other relatives and a host of friends.
