Edward Junior Hubanks, 78, Walters Funeral Service at the Church of Christ, Walters, Friday, December 19, 2:00 p.m., Don Crow officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Inurnment at Restlawn Cemetery, Altus, OK at a later date. Edward Junior Hubanks was born to Lawrence Edward and Lucille (Poole) Hubanks on January 27, 1936 at Grandfield, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on December 16, 2014 at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 19 days. Junior grew up at Grandfield and Hollis, OK. He married Elizabeth Ann Chisum on April 28, 1962 at Altus. They made their home at Hollis where he worked in sales and service for Burns TV and Appliance. He eventually bought the store and through his success with whirlpool won 5 trips out of the country for him and Liz. The family moved to Walters in 1982 and he opened Wright's Donut Shop in 1984 and started the movie club. By 1994 he opened his donut shop in Temple continuing to work until Liz retired in March of 2000. The couple vacationed in Colorado 53 years straight and for the last 14 years has spent the summers in Fun Valley, Colorado. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Junior was a member of the Church of Christ. Hubanks. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Eugene "Bob" Survivors include his wife, Liz, of the home; 2 sons and spouses, Steve and Pam Hubanks of Oklahoma City, Chris and Valerie Hubanks of Sanger, TX; a sister, Julia Faye Cummins of Hollis, OK; his grandchildren, Melissa Burghett, Lindsey Hubanks,Sam Hubanks, Oklahoma City, Luke, Sofia, Sydney, Christian, Samuel and Daniel Hubanks all of Sanger, TX; other relatives and a host of friends and camping buddies.
