Cecil Delbert Belt, Sr. 93, of Duncan, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 13, 2014. Funeral service at First Baptist Church, Duncan, Monday, November 17 at 1:30 p.m., Pastor Bryan Pain officiating with burial in the Temple Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Viewing at Don Grantham Funeral Home in Duncan from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Delbert (as he was known to family) was born July 25, 1921 in Holliday, TX to Albert Floyd and Ida Powell Belt. He was raised around Temple, OK graduating from Temple High School in 1940. He served in the Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He was working at a bakery in Temple when he met the love of his life, Mary Bell Taylor. They married Oct. 12, 1946 and celebrated 60 years before Mary passed away February 13, 2007. To this union two children were born: Cecil Delbert Belt, Jr. and Kathy Belt Smith. Delbert worked at Halliburton for 32 years, retiring in 1980. He was an active member of First Baptist Church and a deacon since 1968. He was a devoted Christian, husband, Daddy, Papa and great-Papa. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gene Smith of Duncan; grandchildren: Steven and Lori Smith of Georgetown, TX and Staci and Lance Norton of Talysarn, Wales; and three great-grandchildren: Abbey, Hope, and Kate Smith of Georgetown, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife; his son, Cecil D. Belt, Jr. in 1968 in Vietnam; his parents; a brother, Marvin Belt; and a sister, Lena.
