Leona Ruth Sprouse

Leona Ruth Sprouse, 89, of Edmond, OK Memorial Service at Edmond Christian Center at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Interment was held at the Walters Cemetery on Friday, November 7 under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Leona Ruth (Daniel) Sprouse was born to Jesse Edgar and Lettie (Mills) Daniel on April 21, 1925 at Walters and departed this life in Edmond, OK on November 7, 2014 at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 17 days. Leona grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS in 1943. She had married the love of her life, Neal Preston Sprouse on January 29, 1943 and never dated or remarried after his death in 1977. Moving from Walters she has made her home at Edmond since 1980. She was an amazing artist, seamstress, cook, quilter, knitter, and crocheted. She taught herself how to sew as a child when her dad bought her a sewing machine. Leona has been an amazing support to her family through the years. She has used her many gifts and talents to enrich her family's life. She has been an active member of Edmond Christian Center and while in Walters, the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Sprouse; her son, Ken Sprouse; her parents, Jesse and Lettie Daniel; and 4 brothers, Byron, Bob, Jack and Kenneth Daniel. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jan Christie and Joel Blomgren and their 3 children, Jamie and husband Dennis Reitz (and children, Christian, Tyler and Vivi), Jerry Blomgren and Jordan Blomgren all of Edmond; her daughter-in-law, Bea Sprouse, wife of Ken, and their 2 children, Kendra and husband Brannon Golden (and children, Kenneth, Preston and Evangeline), and Scotti and husband, Damian Wilson (and children, Alexa, Kezia and Charis), all of Edmond; also many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
