Leroy Laminack, 90, of Randlett, OK Funeral Service at Randlett Baptist Church, Randlett, OK, Friday, October 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., Wayne Laminack officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters, OK. Leroy Laminack was born to Lawson J. and Martha Leola (Bentley) Laminack on July 24, 1924 on Rabbit Creek south of Randlett, OK and departed this life in Burkburnett, TX on October 21, 2014 at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 27 days. Leroy completed the 8th grade at Rabbit Creek School and then attended Randlett High School. He then entered the U.S. Army serving his country honorably during WWII in the Philippines in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign. He made 4 jumps with the 11th Airborne Division over New Guinea, Leyte Island, Luzon and Okinawa. He married Mary E. Miller on August 1, 1947 at Wichita Falls, TX and to the union 4 children were born. They made their home at Randlett, OK, and he worked through the years as a carpenter, mechanic and propane truck driver. Leroy enjoyed watching the kids, grandkids and great grandkids play ball and loved aggravating the grandkids. He also enjoyed working and watching his cows, and watching and playing softball at the family holiday gatherings until breaking his leg. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary, of 49 years in 1996; and was preceded by all of his 11 brothers and sisters. Survivors include 4 children, Steve and Gloria Laminack of Devol, OK, Wayne and Gari Laminack of Woodward, OK, Jean and Neal Taylor of Randlett, OK, Rick and Gay Laminack of Devol; 8 granchildren, Lisa Lynn Laminack, Scott Laminack, Maranda Gunn, Trenna Blagden, Kelley Campbell, Michael Paul Taylor, Tony Laminack and Brad Laminack; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
