Maydell Kelley, 92, of Temple, OK Graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton, OK, 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 24, with Rev. Christy Clark officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple. Memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 622, Temple, OK 73568. Maydell (Ross) Martin Kelley was born to Harrison Alonzo and Jimmie (Stokley) Ross on March 15, 1922 in Hastings, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on October 20, 2014 at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 5 days. Maydell grew up in Hastings. She married James Brown Martin in 1938 at Henrietta, TX and to the union 2 children were born. They were living in Lawton at the time of her husband's death in 1948. She later married Weldon Austin Kelley on March 3, 1950 at Vernon, TX. They made their home in Lawton until moving to Temple in 1972 where she worked as a seamstress at the Haggar slacks factory. Weldon preceded her in death in 1991. She was aslo preceded by her parents; 4 brothers, Carl, Marvin, Norris and Louis Ross; and a sister, Audine Ross. Maydell was a member of the First Baptist Church in Temple. Through the years she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, traveling, crossword puzzles and playing the piano. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Buster and Shirley Martin of Lawton, OK; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jimmy Jeffrey of Temple, OK; 6 grandchildren, Jimmie Martin and wife Debbie of Cyril, OK, Tammie Williams of Lawton, Tony Martin of Lawton, OK, Doug Jeffrey and wife Vikie of Walters, Kelly and husband B.J. Davis of Walters, and Leslie Thompson of Temple; 11 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
