Bret James "B.J." Rayford was born to Thomas William Sr. and Sandra Kay (Pate) Rayford on September 26, 1969 in Ft. Worth, TX and departed this life in Lawton, OK on October 14, 2014 at the age of 45 years and 18 days. B.J. grew up at Maypearl, TX, graduating from Maypearl High School in 1987. He then served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge he went to work for Computer Associates in Irving, TX, where he met Cherice Lynne Mowatt. They were united in marriage on May 14, 1996 at Las Vegas, NV. They made their home at Waxahachie until moving to Walters in 1999. Through the years B.J. has worked various jobs and while attending Cameron University he enjoyed tutoring, as well as substitute teaching at Walters Public Schools. Since June 11, 2011 he has been employed as a Corrections Officer with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. B.J. loved spending time with his family and watching Kelcie play sports. He enjoyed working around the house, cooking, computers, hunting, watching TV and movies, and aggravating people, especially his mother-in-law. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas William Rayford, Sr. and his father-in-Law, Delbert Toquothty. Survivors include his wife Cherice and daughter Kelcie of the home; his son, Classic James "C.J." Rayford and wife Lisa of Midlothian, TX; his mother and second dad, Sandy and Vic Pochobradsky of Ennis, TX; 7 brothers and sisters, Trey Rayford and Sissy Ferry of Maypearl, Robin and husband Cosme Leal of Maypearl, Rhonda Mendola of California, Thomas Rayford Jr. of Michigan, Spring Rayford of Dallas, Kyle and wife Kim Pochobradsky of Athens, TX and Coby Pochobradsky of Tool, TX; his mother-in-law, Frankie Toquothty of Walters; 2 brothers-in-law, Bobby Toquothty and wife Elizabeth of Grandfield, OK and Danny Toquothty of California; 2 sisters-in-law, Lynette and Gale Vandeventer of Edmond, Denise and Daryl Ping of Claremore, OK; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
