Forrest Colston, 78, of Walters, OK Forrest Lynn Colston was born to William Forrest and Nora Blanche (Pickett) Colston on December 17, 1935 at Walters, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on September 24, 2014 at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 7 days. Forrest grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS in 1954. He then attended OU where was active in the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band playing the tuba and was active with the ROTC, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. On July 5, 1958 he married Betty Lou Jones in Walters. He soon landed a job with APCO which later became Ashland Chemical Company. To the union 2 sons were born and the family moved around with Forrest job including stops in Oklahoma City, St. Louis, Kansas City, New Orleans, and Minneapolis. He retired in 1995, as a Regional Sales Manager after 30 years with the company. Forrest and Betty really began to enjoy traveling in their RV, but made their home in Walters where he has been a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, and the Rotary Club and operated the snow cone stand. He was an avid OU football fan. Betty preceded him in death on October 16, 2012. He was also preceded by his parents; a sister, Joan Booher; and a brother, Jack Colston. Survivors include 2 sons of Walters, Craig Colston, Cliff and Donna Colston; a sister, Maxine Arrington of Walters; 3 granddaughters, Jessica, Kiley and Carson Colston; a great granddaughter, Kayleigh Mitchell; other relatives and a host of friends.
