Ida Nell Roddy, 94, of Wichita Falls, TX Funeral services at First United Methodist Church, Temple, OK, Thursday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Jay Driskill officiating. Burial in the Temple Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple. Ida Nell (Henderson) Roddy was born to the Temple Pioneer Families of Grover Cleveland Henderson and Margaret Isabell Hensley on September 24, 1919 in Temple, OK and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX on August 25, 2014 at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 1 day. Ida Nell graduated from Temple High School. She married Jack Roddy, Jr. on September 20, 1939. They made their home in several Illinois towns while Jack worked on the first rural electric lines. They later lived in Mississippi and Georgia, returning to Lawton where they had a business. In 1949 she began working as accountant for Jack Roddy Chevrolet in Blanchard, OK, returning to Temple in 1953 where they raised their daughter. She later married Richard "Dick" Evans and they enjoyed square dancing. Ida Nell was active in the Temple Alumni Association from its beginning. She loved all animals. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Dick Evans and Jack Roddy. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Jackie McCartney of Wichita Falls, TX; a granddaughter, Ashley Sauerbrey and husband Rob of Aurora, CO; a grandson, Jackie McCartney and wife Missy of Wichita Falls; 6 great grandchildren, Hunter, Bishop and Hayden Sauerbrey, Emma, Elizabeth and Andrew McCartney; other special people in her life, the Benny Smallwood Family, the Joseph and Brandi Schmitt Family and a granddaughter by love, Kaylee Schmitt; other relatives and friends.
