Clifford Wayne "Corkey" Hooper was born to Joe Mack and Wilma Liona (Heskett) Hooper on January 22, 1930 in rural Hastings, OK and departed this life in Duncan, OK on May 7, 2014 at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 15 days. Corkey grew up in the Red Store Community and graduated from Temple High School in 1949. He married Doris Marie Ramey on December 24, 1949 at Walters. They made their home in the Red Store area where Corkey has been engaged in farming and ranching his entire life. He was a co-founder of the Waurika Rattlesnake Hunt and enjoyed fishing and raising cows. He and Doris also enjoyed going to garage sales together. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, on August 5, 2009. He was also preceded by his parents, Joe Mack and Wilma Liona Hooper; a brother, Herman Hooper; 2 sister, JoAnn Hodgkins and Wilma Lou Hooper. Survivors include 2 sons, Stanley Allen Hooper of Waurika, OK, Michael Lee Hooper and wife Mary of Temple; 2 daughters, Lisa Rae Collier of Waurika and Sanita Marie Graf of Hastings; 9 grandchildren, Cliff Hooper, Troy Hooper, Jarrod Hooper, Michael Hooper Jr., Michael Jay Williams, Miranda Black, Chase Collier, Tessa Ball and Ullissa Riddles; 19 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
