Cleo Junior Hart was born to Henry Cleo and Julia Dee (Wilson) Hart on January 23, 1939 in rural Walters, OK and departed this life on April 29, 2014, in Walters at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 6 days. Cleo grew up at Walters where he attended school through his sophomore year and later received his GED in 1986. He married Myrna Johnson on June 16, 1956 in Wichita Falls, TX and later married Heather Ellen Hart on June 19, 1976 in England. As a young man he worked as a mechanic for V.C. Davis from 1956-59 and then began his first drilling job with Jones Oil Company in around 1960. He also worked for Carver Oil Co., ODECO Drilling Co. and was rig superintendent for Reading and Bates Offshore Drilling. He returned to Walters operating Broadway Garage from 1986 to 1990 and then went to work for Lashley Oil, operating and maintaining wells for F. J. Lashley in the 1990's and eventually acquired the wells and was self-employed thru 2009. He enjoyed fishing but could seldom find the time as he was tied down to checking wells. After retiring he enjoyed going to the casinos on Senior Citizens Day. He had been a member of the Church of Christ and then later First Baptist Church in Walters. Cleo was preceded in death by his father, Henry Cleo Hart, in 1966; his mother, Julia Dee (Wilson) Hart Johnson in 2012; and his son, Monty Chris Hart, in 1979. Survivors include 5 children, Marty Kent Hart of Hastings, OK, Kelly Renee (Hart) Griggs of Durant, OK, Sherry Leanne (Hart) Barnes of Comanche, OK, Tina Marie (Hart) Carr of Lubbock, TX and Victoria Elizabeth Hart of Norfolk, England; 8 grandchildren, Kevin Lowery, Taylor Hunt, Clay Carr, Kyle Hart, Callum Hart, Jamie M. Jones and Kristen Griggs; 2 sisters, RoJean Jernigan of Walters, Jackie Maier and husband Ray of Duncan, OK; many nieces and nephews and friends.
