Mary Jean Nixon Lewis was born to Robert and Vera Paup on June 13, 1947 in Denison, IA and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on April 18, 2014 at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 5 days. Mary grew up at Denison, Iowa. She received her nursing degree in Iowa and has worked as an RN in Germany and California, eventually working in particular with "shaken babies." She was employed as a case manager for the State of California at the time of her death. Along with her passion for nursing she had also served as Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed horses, camping, snow skiing, traveling the world, cruises, Ketchup, art, stained glass and quilting. She is survived by her husband, Tab Lewis of the home; 2 daughters, Chrissy and husband David Cole of San Diego, CA, and Michelle Nixon of Denver, CO; a brother Mike Paup of the Colorado Springs area; stepsons, Kyle Lewis and wife LeAnn of Hasting, OK, Breck Lewis and wife Lesa of Duncan, OK; a step-granddaughter, Lindsey and husband Shane Calhoun and their children, Raelyn and Christy all of Holiday, TX; other relatives and many friends.
