Kenneth Lee White was born to Steward Lee and Katheryn (Smith) White on August 28, 1925 at Walters, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on March 10, 2014 at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 10 days. Kenneth grew up northeast of Walters in the Lone Star Community where he began attending school. He graduated from Walters High School in 1943 and soon entered the U.S. Army Air Force, serving his country honorably during WWII. On June 3, 1944, he married Margaret Lou Petty at Gladewater, TX and to the union 3 children were born. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, Kenneth was soon running combines and preparing the way for a lifetime of agriculture for his family. Because of a rough stretch in farming he moved his family to Lovington, NM, for a year while employed by Halliburton. They returned home and were back to farming, ranching, custom harvesting and trucking. Along with Johnny Reed, they had the first commercial fertilizer rig in the area. Working was his hobby. He also enjoyed checking the cows, deer hunting in Colorado and buying anything new in agriculture. He had been member and served as deacon at First Baptist Church, and for several years prior to Margaret Lou's death they had enjoyed attending worship services at various churches in the Lawton and Walters area. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James White; his wife, Margaret Lou in 2006; and son, Larry Don White in 2013. Survivors include a son, Kenny White and wife Joy of Walters; a daughter, Barbara Curtsinger of Muskogee, OK; 5 grandchildren, Bobby White and wife Kim of Walters, Brady White of Walters, Gina Kelley of Muskogee, Jeff Curtsinger of Muskogee and Keri White of Walters; 9 great grandchildren, Justin Kelley, Levi White, Jaime White, Reagan Kelley, Amberlea White, Bralea White, Sidney Curtsinger, Remington White and Coleman Curtsinger; other relatives and a host of friends.
