Jimmy Keith Griffin was born to Quannah Parker and Nellie Ruth (Malone) Griffin on October 22, 1933 at Comanche, OK and departed this life in Burkburnett, TX on March 1, 2014 at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 7 days. Jimmy grew up at Cookietown, OK, graduating from Union Valley School in 1952. He attended Cameron College in Lawton for a time but soon married Faye Cochran on February 18, 1953 at Randlett, OK. He went to work at White's Auto Store and then worked at the Wichita Falls Bus Station before beginning his career with Bell Gas and Oil. After serving many years as station supervisor for Bell he then worked 15 years for Big Pasture Public Schools as a bus driver and custodian, retiring in 1994. He was an active member of the Union Valley Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He has enjoyed repairing washers and dryers, helping those in need, writing poetry, making his daily rounds to visit, and he loved spending time with his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joan Anderson; and a grandson, Larame Griffin. Survivors include his wife, Faye, of the home; 4 children and their spouses, Rodney and Trish Griffin of Randlett, Rick and Terry Griffin of Burkburnett, Lori and Kevin Sykes of Leonard, TX, Randy and Beverly Griffin of Randlett; 2 sisters, Patsy Minderman and husband Gene of Cookietown, Sondra Kinder and husband Travis of Geronimo, OK; 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Kristi and Harold Winton, Jr., Gena and Bobby Waitman, Bradley and Shana Griffin, Chance Sykes, Lindsey Sykes, Wesley and Sarah Griffin, Whitney and Joe Patterson, Trace Griffin; 11 great grandchildren, Brecken, Blaine, Jordan, Brennan, Gunner, Sidney, Cannon, Riley, Summer, Emersynn and Eli; other relatives and many friends.
