Hazel Marie (Wright) Knox was born to Allen Allman and Grace Aileen (Kirk) Wright on November 14, 1929 at Oklahoma City, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK, on February 12, 2014 at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 29 days. Hazel grew up at Temple, graduating from Temple High School. She married Clarence Albert "Buddy" Knox on December 24, 1948 at Wichita Falls, TX. They made their home in Temple, but soon moved to Ft. Worth, TX, for a time before moving on to Burkburnett, TX. The family returned to Temple in 1962 when they purchased Temple Electric which they operated for 44 years retiring in 2006. She also served as City Treasurer for many years and collected payments for Arkla Gas, PSO, Pioneer Telephone, Lady Bug Flowers and Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home. She enjoyed spending time with the grandkids, going to Lake Texoma, fishing and was an avid OU Fan. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buddy, in 2007; 2 daughters, Cheryl Ann and Sandra June Knox; and a sister, Sybil Maxine Wright. Survivors include 2 daughters, Sharon Kaye Evans of Temple, and Linda Marie Hines of Ardmore, OK; 6 grandchildren, Marcy Rachelle Evans of Los Angeles, CA, Brandon Clay Evans and wife Leah of Fayetteville, AR, Erin Renee` of Dallas, TX, Michael Jerome Evans and wife Penny of Lawton, Denver Alan Taylor and wife Anna of Sulphur, OK, Cody Joseph Taylor and Krystal Clayburn of Ardmore; 9 great grandchildren with another on the way; 2 brothers, Allen Maurice Wright of Norman, OK and James Stanley Wright and wife Joye of Apache, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
