Luther R. Box 485, Walters, OK 73572 Luther Roy Jackson was born January 27, 1921 in Cotton County, OK to Luther Lee and Ina Zena (Scott) Jackson and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX on February 3, 2014 at the age of 93 years and 7 days. Luther grew up northwest of Walters, attending Elm Grove School. He married Helen Christeen Wheeler on February 22, 1941 in Walters, just shy of 73 years. The couple lived northwest of Walters until moving to Wichita Falls in 1947. He was a pumper in the oilfield and for 36 years worked for Foster Cathead. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Wichita Falls. He was a hard worker and enjoyed fishing, mowing the lawn and gardening. Luther was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Douglas and Hubert; and a sister, Rosie Harris. Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home; a son, James Roy Jackson of Wichita Falls; a brother, Howard Jackson and wife Marilyn of Burleson, TX; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
