Gary Len Murphy

Gary Len Murphy was born to John Paul and Patricia Ann (Kerr) Murphy on January 12, 1961 at Lawton, OK and departed this life at Walters, OK on January 26, 2014 at the age of 53 years and 14 days. Gary grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS in the Class of 1979. He learned how to work hard at an early age, helping his dad with various jobs and also plowing for others. After high school he continued working with his dad deconstructing miles of pipeline. He married Trishia LeBarre on September 25, 1981 at First Baptist Church in Walters and to the union 3 children were born. Through the years Gary worked for his parents at Western Scrap Processing in Kansas, he also did trucking for Piping out of Tulsa and was currently working as a fabricator for Miller Mechanical at Ameron in Burkburnett. Along with scrapping, operating heavy equipment, trucking and building things, Gary has also enjoyed roping, watching football, cooking and playing with his grandkids. Survivors include 3 children, Tracy Lindsey and husband Michael, Spencer Murphy and wife Taylor, and Jorden Murphy all of Walters; 4 grandchildren, Jacie, Jena, Lexie and Avery Lindsey; his parents, John and Patricia Murphy of Cookietown; his maternal grandmother, Pauline Kerr of Cookietown; 2 sisters, Shari Sanford and husband Brad of Jacksonville, TX, Carrie Ward and husband Wes of Niles, MI; other relatives and many friends.
