Kevin Weddle

February 3, 1955 — January 14, 2014

Spencer Kevin Weddle was born to Aaron Donald and Ruth Alora (Kelley) Weddle on February 3, 1955 in Walters, OK and departed this life in Denton, TX on January 14, 2014 at the age of 58 years, 11 months and 11 days. Kevin grew up in the Ahpeatone Community southeast of Chattanooga, OK, graduating from Chattanooga High School in 1973. Early on Kevin worked at his brother's service station in Temple, OK, but soon began driving a wheat truck hauling grain which began his career as a professional trucker. He married Pattie McKown Cunningham on February 25, 1979 at Temple. In the winter of 1982 Kevin went to work driving a truck for Safety-Kleen and the family made their home in the Oklahoma City Area. The company later transferred him to Denton, TX, moving the family to Gainesville for a time until making Denton their home where they have lived the past 20 years. He worked for Safety-Kleen until 2009 and then worked with Airgas of Lawton for 2 years before landing a trucking job with the Walmart Distribution Center at Sanger, TX, which he has enjoyed since November of 2012. Kevin was a member of First Baptist Church in Denton. Growing up he was active in the FFA serving as President and was also a decorated basketball player, making All-State and setting several records in the sport at Chatty. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed his "Sooners." He also enjoyed going to the lake, doing yard work, playing crocket, golfing, bird hunting and joking around. He loved relaxing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Ruth; 2 brothers, Donnie and Kelley Weddle; and his sister Donna Kay Quickle. Survivors include his wife, Patty, of the home; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, John Thomas and Shonee Cunningham of San Antonio, TX, Blake and Sinayd Weddle of Riverside, CA; 6 grandchildren, Michael, Logan, twin boys Jet and Sterling, Conner and Angelina; a sister, Cherlyn Gaines and husband Terry of Nesbit, MS; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don Allen Quickle of Walters, Mary Ann Weddle of Pauls Valley, OK, Linda Weddle of Yukon, OK, Mike and Jackie McKown of Medicine Park and Greg McKown of Salt Lake City, UT; other relative and many many friends.
